๐Ÿ’ช Base statistics

The five core attributes every hero has. Most other numbers โ€” Perception, Body, Stamina, Speed โ€” are derived from these.

The five basics

Each base stat starts at 10 โ€” the human average.

Strength (STR)
Physical power. Drives melee damage, carrying capacity, and the muscle behind feats of force.
Agility (AGI)
Quickness, balance, fine motor control. The foundation for combat skill, dodging, and movement.
Intelligence (INT)
Reasoning, memory, and learning. The base for Perception and half of Initiative.
Constitution (CON)
Toughness and endurance. Feeds Body and Stamina; helps recovery between fights and days.
Willpower (WIL)
Mental fortitude and determination. Used for morale, resisting pain, and pushing through.

Cost: each step up costs more than the last

10 is free. Above 10 each step costs more than the one before; below 10 you get those points back at the same rate. That is why a 13 is a thoughtful investment and an 18 is a serious commitment.

Pair this with the 3d6 dice math: very high stats buy small reliability gains for a lot of points.

How they show up at the table

  • The GM may ask for a straight stat roll (3d6 โ‰ค stat) when no specific skill applies.
  • Skills inherit a base stat โ€” see Skills.
  • Calculated stats (Perception, Initiative, Body, Stamina, Speed) read from these โ€” see Calculated statistics.
